Privacy Policy

The preservation of private rights becomes more challenging in the modern world when we employ information communication technology tools for information sharing and communication. Within our academic community, we use these technologies to collaborate and share knowledge. These products never provide 100 percent security, despite their speed and simplicity. Communication and computer systems are vulnerable to abuse and hacking by outsiders and online criminals.

In compliance with Indian legislation, “RTC Institute of Technology” is dedicated to safeguarding the privacy, confidentiality, and accuracy of personally identifiable information. RTC Institute of Technology plans to take all necessary steps to safeguard security and privacy with regard to its operations.

1. Scope of the Policy:

This policy applies to all RTC Institute of Technology members, including students, faculty, staff and others who have access to information.

This policy applies to any information gathered through visits to https://www.rtcit.ac.in, as well as information gathered through college website logins by students, faculty, and other staff.

2. Information Privacy:

2.1 Personal Information

RTC Institute of Technology is aware of how crucial it is to protect the privacy and security of personal data in the modern digital age. The Institution does not disclose any personal information for commercial or other purposes that are not within the scope of its normal functions. RTC Institute of Technology collects, uses, stores, and discloses information as necessary for the Institution’s academic, research, and administrative functions, as well as to comply with applicable laws and regulations and University policies.

Individuals’ personal information shall not be disclosed by the Institution and shall be used only for the purpose for which it was collected.

2.2 Email, Computers and Networks

The personal details of the candidate with whom the Institution has e-mail correspondences shall not be disclosed or shared with any other Institution. The contents of e-mail sent to or from the Institution’s servers shall be monitored only when there is a breach of security protocols. Emails sent through the servers must be stored for a brief period of time and may only be made public if necessary for investigations into potential violations of the Institution’s rules, regulations, and policies or for investigations by a legal authority.

All users of computers that are either owned by the Institution or connected to its network are required to follow its policies. The RTC Institute of Technology reserves the right to continuously monitor all hardware and software that it owns or that is linked to its network in order to prevent or look into unauthorised or illegal use of the Institution’s systems.

3. Security

RTC Institute of Technology takes the necessary precautions to safeguard personal information, but cannot ensure complete security, since, it is not possible to provide the highest level of security for data that is transmitted over the internet and is not liable for any data loss or theft.

4. Links to Other Site

The Institution may have links to websites outside of its network, but it has no control over their content or privacy policies. If you are connected to a third-party link, which are not operated by the Institution, the Institution is not responsible for the content or privacy policies of those third-party sites. Individuals are responsible for reviewing the privacy policies of such websites.

5. Information Gathered in video surveillance equipment:

To ensure everyone’s safety on campus, the institution has installed CCTV or surveillance cameras in numerous significant locations. Such a device should only be used to safeguard people and property; it should not be used to restrict academic freedom or personal liberties.

The video surveillance system’s recordings will be kept private, and only the authorised person will have the access. An outside official will only be granted permission to access the recordings under special circumstances involving the investigation of an unfavourable incident or illegal activity.

The recordings from security cameras will be kept for at least one month, but they may be preserved and kept for longer if necessary with permission from higher authorities.
